"Snow Day"

a frozen world around

   lost in our fort of solitude

a play-date that never ends

   mommy, daddy, daughter

a wish for a life as easy

   as a snow-day home together

a nap in the middle of the day

  for mommy and daddy

a time for bonding and raspberry wars

  movies and water colors

a frozen world surrounds us

  we don't care

a family comes together

  for snow-day joys

"A Fairy tale"

Once upon a time
   there was a beautiful little girl
     she was given the world
then she found out what the world was like
   cold, hard, unforgiving
she could have hid
she could have cried
   but instead she smiled
because she had enough love to share.
