Time passes

It has been over a year since I have last posted. There are so many things going on in my life, but I don't blog the way that I used to - back in the day of MySpace. Ah, MySpace. I am not ashamed to say that I miss that glitter filled wonderland of social media. My page with its own sound track & yes, you must listen to my music when visiting my page. But, really, I miss the ease of having a blog right there on my social media. Now, it's 140 characters & studies prove that people won't read long posts (my own reading of my news feed proves this point).

I have this odd habit of starting new blogs. I currently have 2 other blogs that lay dormant & somewhere in the vast space of the inter-nets, I have a blog that I started before social media was a coined term; long before Facebook or MySpace. In the area of dial-ups and AIM, I had a blog. I miss my journaling for the masses. Because really, that is what this is. Self-release to the public.

Ah... I found a list (you know how I love lists)

http://www.gurl.com/2013/08/15/internet-trends-stuff-from-early-2000s-1990s/

I miss so many of those things and some not at all... it is missing ICQ and then there was GeoCities *sigh*

I wonder if I am now blogging in a early 2000 style. It feels old school to me. 15 years ago is old school, but that makes me want to cry for a different reason. I have been on a computer since 1987. Let's not talk about old school computer stuff, people, I started with DOS.

So, what is THIS blog? My issue lays in the original collection of entries on this blog. It was created as an outlet for my creativity. I don't need something, so... limiting *eek* but I do need my blog. I guess that having one or two readers wouldn't be so bad either. I know that Beth, Ron & Crystal will be out there somewhere - at some point. Ron, what was your favorite blog platform? What do you guys miss from years on the internet?

For now, I say good-night. Soon I will write more. Soon.

"untitled"

finally
with the world crumbing
around her
she stood up
and
said
no
she would not take it
she would stand
stand for something
meaningful
true
holding her head high
she
choose
life

"Saying goodbye"

Lay your flowers on the dirt
Water them well with your tears
It will never be enough to simply miss her
Your heart is too scared to beat again
    horrified to lose her, again
Words fail as your tongue is humbled
The wind wraps around you
    hugging you one last time
Her life goes on through your memories
Be strong, hold her high
Say good-bye

"Welcome"

Welcome
    to the first day
of the rest of your life.
It begins
    with each sunrise.
You have the choice
to go with what people tell you
or fight for what is in your heart.
Go with your heart;
    it knows better.

"Untitled"

   long    -    short
happy    -    sad
  dark    -    light
            life
          death
silence   -    mourning
    pain   -   suffering
release   -   lost

"New day"

I weep for those in pain.
I mourn for those with loss.
I fight for those without a voice.
I celebrate for those that feel joy.
I rejoice with the world at the birth of a new day.

"Canvas"

I remember when life was all laid out in front of me, like an empty canvas. Still a child, full of hope, I marked out a path to take. But, the future is much too far away to see clearly. The canvas was marked again and again until my original plan is barely visible. My goal had been moved further and further down the path. I'm only a little smarter now, but I know that life should never have simply one goal or one path. We try; we fail; we succeed; we move on. Life is about living, not planning.

"As a child"

As a child I ran amongst the wild flowers.
We were carefree and roamed the green
earth eager to taste, feel, experience
life as we knew it has changed
childhood has morphed into a cage
safety is the number one concern
wild flower children have children of their own
fear has replaced our freedom as we pause
to carefully watch our children
don't roam but there is no time so we
cage the children for their own safety
they can learn about the world from
parents with no time to nurture and
engage our children only when necessary
plus we will always have tomorrow
to teach our children
how to be carefree
how to be eager
how to run
how to live
tomorrow will never come
for us wild flower children
fear is no way to raise a child
we only have our children for today
tomorrow they will be grown

"Chaos"

chaos is apparent disorder is it apparent that life follows this logic how far do we have to go before we lose sight of where we started it is simple to say that you do not understand and just go on your way but to stop and think to break something apart and really think breaking something down does not mean that you have to break it or tear it apart just stop a think thank chaos for being the catalysis for life the beginning of life when we are all too young to understand the gift that we are given and we tear it apart just stop and think we live and we die but we do not get to go back life gets disorganized it gets messy we get messy we can learn and grow and embrace the chaos in our lives if we stop and think chaos is apparent disorder but when we stop and think we discover that chaos is simply the beginning

"Blank text"

I lost myself here
within the spaces
between the letters
no, between the words
or maybe its the phrases
something here
caught me
off-guard
I am stuck here
within the spaces
between the thoughts
the letters are my life
my life is here
in the letters
spelling it out
defining who I am
playing with who I am not
I am the words
this word is lost
I am lost

"Time"

One second passed by;
  did you notice?
Days, hours, minutes, seconds:
time has such a hold on our lives.
Each moment of joy,
  moment of sorrow,
moment of thought can be broken down
  into measurement until its meaningless.
How long is a moment?
What does a second of love feel like?
Is it the same feeling as a second of anger?
Look at the clock,
  this thing - this portal
  physical numbers - temporal symbols
  what does it tell you?
Is it lunch time?
  bed time?
  time for that meeting?
  time to go?
  time to stay?
  quitting time?
  quiet time?
The alarm clock rings, shredding dreams,
starting the day, ticking off the seconds.
Could life be any more regimented?
Could there be a greater dictator than your schedule?
Close your eyes;
  reclaim one moment.
One second passed by;
  did you feel it?
